DAY 01: SURABAYA – ACCOMMODATION IN MOUNT BROMO AREA
Bromo Ijen Crater Tour will be started in the Surabaya area, Our guide and driver will pick you up at the hotel, train station, or airport. And then, we will drive from Surabaya to Mount Bromo area for about 3-4 hours. Upon your arrival in the Mt Bromo area, we will escort you to the accommodation in Mt. Bromo area for an enjoyable stay before you do a tour of Mount Bromo
OPTIONAL PROGRAM:
If you can start in the morning & the weather is good enough, you will have a chance to visit Madakaripura Waterfall on the way from Surabaya to your hotel in the Mt. Bromo area. But the cost is not included yet, so the additional cost will be applied & please check the picture of Madakaripura waterfall on the Internet for more inspiration.
DAY 02: BROMO SUNRISE TOUR – ACCOMMODATION IN BONDOWOSO TOWN
The Mount Bromo sunrise tour will start around 3:00 AM from your hotel (when you come to Mount Bromo on the weekend, we have to start the tour earlier), the jeep will bring you to the most famous viewpoint in the Mount Bromo area. That is Penanjakan/King Kong Hill, from the hill we can see the best sunrise in East Java with mountains and volcanoes as a background. Afterward, the jeep will continue your adventure holiday to reach the sea of sands in the Mount Bromo area.

We will stop at the parking area then you will cross the sea of sands by riding a horse or on foot (it is optional) till reach the stairs at the slope of Mount Bromo which will lead you to reach the peak of Mt. Bromo. After enjoying the volcanic activity on the top of Mount Bromo, you have to go back to your jeep then the jeep will bring you back to the hotel for breakfast, take a shower, pack, loading bags into our car afterward we will continue our trip to your Hotel in Ijen Crater area for about 4-5 hours.
This route will pass rural landscapes, small cities, rice fields, plantations, and beaches. You can have lunch on the way to the local restaurant, please let us know your special dietary to avoid any problem with your food order. In the late afternoon or early evening, we will be reaching your hotel/homestay in Bondowoso Town, which is on the west side of the Ijen Crater area.
DAY 03: IJEN CRATER SUNRISE TOUR – BACK TO SURABAYA (BY CAR)
Your Ijen Crater adventure begins at around 1 AM. Our car will take you to Paltuding, the starting point of the trek, passing through lush plantations and dense rainforest. The journey from the hotel takes approximately 2 hours
From Paltuding, a 2-hour hike will lead you to the peak of Ijen Crater, standing at an altitude of 2,385 meters above sea level. From there, you’ll descend into the crater to witness the incredible blue fire phenomenon, a rare natural spectacle found only in two places worldwide: Ijen Crater and the Dallol Volcano in Ethiopia. Since the blue fire fades with the arrival of daylight, you’ll need to be there while it’s still dark—an unforgettable experience.

Around 4:30 AM, you’ll ascend back to the crater’s peak to watch the sunrise. From this vantage point, you’ll be captivated by the breathtaking views of the crater, including the turquoise-colored acid lake. The picturesque scenery offers stunning photo opportunities.
In addition to the natural beauty, you’ll see the hardworking sulfur miners. These miners descend into the crater to extract yellow sulfur rocks and carry loads of up to 80 kilograms along steep and hazardous paths.
After enjoying the enchanting scenery at Crater of Ijen Crater then we will go down to the parking area where our car will be waiting to escort you back to your accommodation before departing to the Surabaya area, the drive will take about 5-6 hours drive with some stops.

If the weather is good enough and you have a good condition for trekking at night, you can take the Ijen Blue Fire Tour at Ijen Crater but you are required to leave the Hotel or Homestay around 00:00 AM or Midnight. Please check the picture of the blue fire at Ijen Crater on the Internet.

The Blue Fire, a rare and extraordinary natural phenomenon at Ijen Crater, is caused by the combustion of sulfuric gases ignited at high temperatures. However, it’s important to note that the Blue Fire is not always visible. There are times when it may not appear at all or remain invisible for extended periods due to changing natural conditions.
