Surabaya Bromo Ijen Bali Tour Package
WHAT MAKES THIS TRIP INTERESTING?
This trip is designed for travelers or any tourists who have already planned to visit Mount Bromo and Ijen Crater as their holiday. Here is a special itinerary we designed to explore those destinations within four days. It seems to be great if you want to enjoy more days in one of the destinations, for example, in our itinerary, we extend one day more to explore Mount Bromo and see the view of Mount Bromo at sunrise on another hidden sunrise hill. So, it will be interesting for you all. The route will be quite basic, we start from the west side, which is Surabaya City, and will finish on the East Side, which is Bali Island. So, you read the details below if you want to know more about the exact itinerary.
DAY 1: SURABAYA – HOTEL IN MOUNT BROMO AREA
We will pick you up in Surabaya (Hotel, Train Station, or Airport), and drive about 3 – 4 hours to reach our place in the Mount Bromo area. We will be staying in Cemara Lawang village area because this area is the closest to Mount Bromo. You just need to walk around the village, and you will see Mount Bromo in front of you.
OPTIONAL PROGRAM:
If you can start from Surabaya at 9:00 am, we will invite you to visit Madakaripura Waterfall on our way to the Mount Bromo area. But it will be an additional cost that you must pay on the spot.
DAY 2: BROMO SUNRISE TOUR – TELETUBBIES HILL – HOTEL IN MOUNT BROMO AREA – BROMO SUNSET TOUR
Bromo sunrise tour will start at 3:30 am, our jeep will bring you up to the most famous hill of Penanjakan or Kingkong hill. From there, you will see the most magical sunrise with the view of Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, Mount Semeru, and some mountains around this area.
Every sunrise point here will be full of people every morning, so we suggested starting earlier on the weekend when you don’t mind waking earlier for better conditions, where you will be waiting for sunrise in Mount Bromo.
The sunrise here is at 5:30 am. You will have an hour to enjoy the sunrise before you continue the trip to cross the sea of sand and hike the peak of Mount Bromo. Upon your arrival in a sea of sand, we will park our jeep, and you will be required to walk about 40 minutes up. If you feel tired of walking, you can hire a horse for about 300.000 IDR / horse. The horse here is so calm, so don’t be afraid of them.
When you reach the peak of Mount Bromo, you will hear the sound from the earth, which means Mount Bromo is a superactive volcano. Sometimes, it spews the ash and smoke with bad smells like rotten eggs. This is a reason why you can’t stay too long at the top of this volcano, because the dangerous gas comes up and kills anyone who is on the top of Mount Bromo. Back in our jeep, we will be continuing to our last stop for today. Before going back to our hotel, we will go to Teletubbies Hill, where you can see a beautiful green valley. About 9:30 am, we should go back to our hotel to have breakfast, take a shower, and rest until 4:00 pm.
Our sunset tour will start at 4:30 pm, and we will walk to Metigen Hill; it’s a kinda soft trek here. Metigen Hill is a great spot to see Sunset, even sunrise, if you are too lazy to take a jeep.

DAY 3: BROMO SUNRISE TOUR IN ROGOWULAN HILL – HOTEL IN THE IJEN CRATER AREA
The second sunrise will be a bit different. We will watch the sunrise above Rogowulan Hill. You will be required to start from your hotel at 3:00 am, and our jeep will bring you to Kingkong Hill then you will change to a motorbike because the access to this hill is not enough road for the jeep. The ride will take about 40 minutes less. From Rogowulan Hill, you will see the magical view of Mount Bromo and its surroundings. Rogowulam Hill is located in Njetak Village, and it’s highly recommended for nature photographers or nature lovers.
After enjoying the view in Rogowulan Hill, we will be back at our hotel for breakfast, take a shower, and continue to our hotel in the Ijen Crater area, which is located in the Banyuwangi area. The drive from Bromo to the Banyuwangi area (Ijen Crater) is about 5-6 hours, but along the way, you will pass a rural village, rice fields, and some local restaurants to stop.

DAY 4: KAWAH IJEN TOUR (BLUEFLAME TOUR) – TRANSFER OUT TO BALI
Kawah Ijen blue flame tour will start at about 00:30 am from your hotel in the Banyuwangi area. We will drive about an hour from Banyuwangi town to the Paltuding area. Paltuding is a parking area and also a start point where you can purchase the entrance ticket and start hiking Kawah Ijen.
The trek in Kawah Ijen will take about 1,5 hours to reach the peak of Kawah Ijen, but if you wish to go down into the crater to watch the most famous natural phenomenon of Blueflame, you should walk down for 40 minutes. It’s slippery and rocky, so you are required to wear proper shoes here. Besides of the magical blue flame, you will see some sulfur miners working to get the block of sulfur.
When the sun almost rises, you will be escorted by our guide to go back to the peak of Kawah Ijen and watch the sunrise there. When the sun rises, you will see the beauty of the surroundings, you can see the Bali Strait, Mount Baluran in the northern part, Mount Raung in the Southwest and the biggest turquoise sulfuric lake of Kawah Ijen.
After enjoying the view from above, we will go down to the parking place and back to our hotel in Banyuwangi area. We will make a stop in Clove Plantation and Coffee plantation. We will also have an option to have breakfast in the Jagir Waterfall when you want to have breakfast here instead of a Hotel view.
About 11:00 am, we will escort you to the port of Ketapang to get a ferry that will cross the Bali Strait for an hour. Upon your arrival in Gilimanuk port (Bali side), you will be welcomed by our Balinese driver who will escort you to your hotel in Bali.
